For visitors
Guests are always welcome. A guest is covered by the club's insurance on the first ride only, then the club asks you to join. Everyone signs that day's waiver. A certified helmet is required, and lights are strongly encouraged. Class 2 and throttle e-bikes are not allowed. Rain at the start cancels the ride, and the club posts cancellations on its home page. The club calls Thursday more serious than the Tuesday ride and asks you to keep its pace guide in mind. - Bring
- a helmet, water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before 8:00 am. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- Expect 13–15 mph on average: steady — you'll breathe hard on the hills. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.
- Check
- Look at the host's website the day of — that's where cancellations, weather calls and start changes get posted.

The Sun City Cycling Club's Thursday ride: 30 to 50+ miles at an average of about 13 to 15 mph. The club calls it more serious than the Tuesday ride, and says the group stays together. It leaves from the Sundial Recreation Center, except on the first Thursday of the month, when it starts somewhere else.
