D group and new riders should speak up when the group gathers: the D ride is tailored to whoever shows up. Seven A/B routes and six C routes rotate week by week. The club's site has a Ride Waiver page.

Arrive
Ten or fifteen minutes before 8:00 am. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
Pace
The easiest pace the host lists is 10–15 mph: you can talk the whole way. It splits into pace groups. Pick the slowest one your first time; you can move up next week.

About the Lightning Velo Sunday Ride group ride

Lightning Velo Sunday Ride is a road group ride in Long Beach, CA. It rolls every Sunday at 8:00 am from Marina Dr parking lot (temporary start during Studebaker Rd construction; the Sunday farmers' market can crowd the north end).

Lightning Velo is a Long Beach road club that started in 1988 as a racing club. On Sundays it rolls at 8:00 am in four groups: A is 23+ mph and may drop slow riders, B and C ride no-drop double pacelines, and D is for newer road riders. The A and B routes rotate through seven loops and the C through six. Most rides end at The Crema Cafe in Seal Beach.
