Join the Meetup group to see each ride's meeting place. Most trails are paved; the Wallkill Valley, Hurley, Hudson Electric and Stewart Buffer Lands trails mix crushed stone and packed dirt, so a hybrid or mountain bike is more comfortable there than a road bike.

Hudson Valley Rail Trail Riders Weekend Rides is a social group ride in Poughkeepsie, NY. It rolls some Sundays and Saturdays at 10:30 am from A different rail trail each ride across Dutchess, Orange, Ulster and Columbia counties.

A Meetup group that rides the rail trails of the mid-Hudson Valley: the Maybrook Trail, Harlem Valley, Ashokan, Orange Heritage and the Dutchess Rail Trail over the Walkway. Rides run 22 to 26 miles at an easy pace, mostly on weekends. The trail, the day and the start change from ride to ride.
