Registration is not required. The club's home page invites non-members to join a ride. Rain cancels; the club says to check its Ride Announcements Forum an hour before. The club calls it one of its friendliest rides. New riders should arrive early and talk to a ride leader to find a pace group. Leaders post the routes on the club's Facebook page the day of the ride, and the ride is swept.
First time on this ride? Here’s the drill
- Bring
- a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before 5:30 pm. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- The easiest pace the host lists is 12–14 mph: steady — you'll breathe hard on the hills. It splits into pace groups. Pick the slowest one your first time; you can move up next week.
- Check
- Look at the host's website the day of — that's where cancellations, weather calls and start changes get posted.
