- Bring
- a helmet, water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before the meet time. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- Group pace; regroups after climbs and at important intersections. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.
- Check
- Look at the host's website the day of — that's where cancellations, weather calls and start changes get posted.
