Baton Rouge Bike Club rides are for members, but the first ride is free and non-members are limited to two club rides (its 'About A Club Ride' page). Helmets required, sign-in with a contact phone. Bad-weather cancellations go on the club's Facebook group.

Bring
a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
Arrive
Ten or fifteen minutes before 5:30 pm. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
Pace
Expect 10–15 mph: you can talk the whole way. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.

About the Shenandoah Shuffle (Baton Rouge Bike Club) group ride

Shenandoah Shuffle (Baton Rouge Bike Club) is a road and social group ride in Baton Rouge, LA. It rolls every Tuesday at 5:30 pm from Capitol Cyclery.

A weekly Tuesday evening ride through the residential streets of Shenandoah, Lake at White Oak and White Oak Landing. The club calls it a no-drop ride at a C pace (10 to 15 mph, no faster than the slowest rider) for experienced and new riders. The leader picks a 5, 10 or 20 mile route in advance.
