a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
Arrive
Ten or fifteen minutes before 6:30 am. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
Pace
The easiest pace the host lists is 15–17 mph: brisk — you'll want some fitness. It splits into pace groups. Pick the slowest one your first time; you can move up next week.
