Bring
a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
Arrive
Ten or fifteen minutes before the meet time. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
Pace
Mellow. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.

About the Mellow Monday Ride group ride

Mellow Monday Ride is a social group ride in Portland, ME. It rolls every other Monday at 6:10 pm from Back Cove parking lot (opposite Hannaford).

A short ride for new riders and people getting back on a bike. Back Cove to Payson Park, snacks, a few short skills workshops, then back. Gear Hub is Portland's nonprofit community bike shop. Bring lights and a helmet.

In 2027 I ride 10,000 miles, all on the bike, every one of them for queer communities. You pledge a few cents a mile and pick which org it goes to. It starts January 1.
