- a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before the meet time. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- Pace isn't posted. Ask the host before you go, or say you're new when you arrive.
- Check
- Look at the host's website the day of — that's where cancellations, weather calls and start changes get posted.

About the Critical Mass NOLA group ride
Critical Mass NOLA is a Critical Mass ride in New Orleans, LA. It rolls last Friday of the month at 6:30 pm from French Market, Barracks Street side.
A monthly volunteer-led community ride that gathers at the French Market. In its own words it is informal, and riders are responsible for their own safety. The same group runs the Oct 13 Fete Ghisallo procession and blessing of the bikes from the same spot.
