a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
Arrive
Ten or fifteen minutes before 6:00 pm. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.

Expect 12–16 mph: steady — you'll breathe hard on the hills. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.

A ride for people who have never ridden in a group on the road. Shop guides teach hand signals, drafting and etiquette at a casual 12–16 mph. Any bike welcome. Distance grows to about 20 miles as the summer goes on. Free parking in the ramp after 5 pm.
