- Bring
- a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before 6:30 pm. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- Expect 8–10 mph: you can talk the whole way. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.

About the Ride Around Durham (RAD) group ride
Ride Around Durham (RAD) is a social group ride in Durham, NC. It rolls every Thursday at 6:30 pm from Duke Chapel.
A casual Thursday ride that gathers in front of Duke Chapel and ends somewhere different each week. Any bike works. It began with Duke students and grew into a citywide ride. Check Instagram before you go; a 2023 article had the start at 7 pm.
