First ride is free for newcomers; riders are asked to join the club (bikesprings.org/join-us) if they come a second time. RSVP on Meetup. Helmets required. Cell service can be poor on the route.

- a helmet, water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before 9:00 am. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- Expect 12–16 mph: steady — you'll breathe hard on the hills. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.
- Check
- Look at the host's website the day of — that's where cancellations, weather calls and start changes get posted.
