- a helmet, front and rear lights (it's a dark-hours ride), water, a spare tube or patch kit, a way to pay for the stop.
- Arrive
- Ten or fifteen minutes before 6:00 pm. Tell whoever's leading that you're new.
- Pace
- Casual, slow. It's no-drop: if you fall off the back, someone waits. That's the point of a group ride.

About the BikeAthens Joy Ride group ride

Slow in-town ride from the BikeAthens community shop. Six to eight miles on streets and multi-use paths with a ride leader up front and a sweeper in back. Nobody gets left. Optional hang at Athentic Brewing after.
