Hill Country Ride for AIDS

Austin's one-day classic: multiple distances through the Texas Hill Country, funding a coalition of central-Texas HIV and LGBTQ+ organizations. The friendliest on-ramp in charity cycling.

Not every charity ride is a multi-day epic. The Hill Country Ride for AIDS proves the one-day format can carry just as much heart: thousands of riders, distances from a family-friendly handful of miles up to a proper long course, and decades of history funding organizations like Out Youth and other central-Texas HIV service providers.

The ride

Texas Hill Country is honest terrain — rollers that stack up, wind you'll remember, wildflowers in spring. Pick the distance that matches your winter training, not your ego. Every route gets full support.

Why one-day rides matter

They're the on-ramp. The fundraising minimums are gentler, the training is achievable for anyone who rides weekends, and the finish-line community is identical to the big rides. Most people who do a seven-day ride did a one-day ride first.

If this would be your first, the first-timer's guide covers training and logistics, and the fundraising guide makes the minimum a formality.

I do the miles. You decide who they’re for.

In 2027 I ride 10,000 miles, all on the bike, every one of them for queer communities. You pledge a few cents a mile and pick which org it goes to. It starts January 1.
